The Michigan chapter of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA-Michigan) is gearing up for its annual celebration of Filipino American Heritage Month slated on October 7, 2017 at the elegant Penna’s of Sterling Heights.

This year’s overall event committee is chaired by Bert Reginaldo with the assistance of enthusiastic members who have been diligently working in their respective sub-committees to ensure a successful celebration.

Reginaldo has been conducting teleconferences and mini meetings almost weekly  with the sub-committees to monitor the  progress of the tasks given to them.

The event is expected to draw the attendance of some national NaFFAA officials,  including National Chair Brendan Flores, National Vice Chair Emraida Kiram, and Executive Director Jason Tengko.

NaFFAA has been spearheading efforts to promote the welfare and well-being of the four million Filipino Americans throughout the United States. The Michigan chapter under the leadership of incumbent chairperson Fe San Agustin strives to pursue NaFFAA’s mission for Filipinos in the Great Lakes state.

Noteworthy to highlight is the upcoming special celebration of the organization’s 20th anniversary which will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

NaFFAA, a non-profit, non-partisan organization, was established in 1997.

On October 21, 2017, NaFFAA will be celebrating 20 years of Leadership, Civic Engagement and Advocacy. With the theme “NaFFAA 20,” the celebration will pay special recognition to the legacy and accomplishments of the organization for the past 20 years. It aims to continue its work of maintaining solidarity among Filipino Americans in the U. S.

The anniversary celebration will draw the attendance of several chapter affiliates from all over the U.S., media outlets, dignitaries, prominent speakers and cultural performers . It also plans a gala night to present awards to Filipino leaders, organizations and corporate partners.

Meanwhile, the Michigan chapter will kick off the celebration with its own unique festivities, and all Filipinos are invited to attend and enjoy this special commemorative event.
