The Filipino Star News is now four years old.
This issue you’re reading is the 97th issue.
The maiden issue of Filipino Star News came out on Dec. 10, 2009, and since then it has been continuously published twice in a month or every 15 days.
In a four-year period ending November 30, 2013, a total of 96 issues were published.
This issue (Volume 5, No. 1) represents the first in the fifth year of continuous publication of the Filipino Star.
The management hopes to continue publishing this community, tabloid-sized, free newspaper for many more years.
We have plans to increase the number of pages to enable us to print more news reports and articles for our readers.
We thank God for giving us the energy, wisdom and patience that enable us to keep publishing this newspaper.
We also profusely thank our advertisers for continuously supporting us. Without their support, the Filipino Star would not have gone this far.
Likewise, we express our gratitude to our readers for their words of encouragement and moral support.
As a business, like most community newspapers, the Filipino Star does not glitter like gold. At present, ad revenues are just enough to cover the cost of printing and coffee and candies for the staff.
What keeps the adrenaline flowing is the staff’s passion for writing and its sense of public service.
