valentines ballThe Philippine American Cultural Center (PACCM), also known as Philippine American Community Center, will mark the celebration of its 32nd anniversary with its annual Valentine’s Ball which will be held on Feb. 7, 2015 at Somerset Inn in Troy.

The theme of the 2015 Valentine Ball is “Love Will Keep Us Together…Forever.”

The highlight of the event is the presentation of couples who are celebrating this year their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th and 50th anniversaries. The couples will be honored and will celebrate their marriage milestone together with the other guests.

The planning committee is inviting couples marking their marriage landmark to join the Valentine’s Ball.

The Valentine’s Ball is one of PACCM’s ways of raising funds. The center, which is considered second home by many Filipino Americans living in Michigan, is in need of funds for the maintenance of its building and for the implementations of its flagship programs, including Paaralang Pilipino (Filipino school) whose mission is to educate second-generation Filipino-Americans on Philippine culture, tradition and language.

There are several opportunities for individuals or groups to support the PACCM. Companies can become corporate sponsors of PACCM’s 32nd anniversary celebration and Valentine’s Ball.

The sponsorship categories are Platinum ($5,000, sponsorship amount), Gold ($2,500), Silver ($1,000) and Bronze ($600).

The benefits of corporate sponsorships include a complimentary dinner, free advertisement and publicity.

Members of the  planning committee can provide more details in the various sponsorship categories to potential sponsors.

Organizations, business groups and individuals can support the event by purchasing and attending the dinner event.

Regular tickets cost $50 each; benefactor tickets, $100 each; and student tickets, $40 each.

PACCM is also soliciting from organizations, businesses and individuals advertisements that will be published in the souvenir program book for the event. A one-page advertisement costs $100.

The celebration will be a night of dancing and entertainment. There will be plenty of time for community dancing. Also, there will a silent auction of valuable items. A sweet table will be provided.

People interested to join the annual event and help raise funds for  PACCM are requested to call Becky Tungol, PACCM President, at 248-755-6119.

PACCM is a 501 (c) (3) organization. As such, funds donated to the center are tax deductible.
