The Phil-Am Medical Mission Foundation of Michigan (PAMMFM), in cooperation with the Waray Waray International Organization, will present classically trained Filipino tenor Jonathan Badon in a fund-raising concert set in the afternoon of July 29, 2012 in the Troy Community Center on Livernois Road in Troy.
The proceeds from the concert will be partly bankroll a medical-surgical mission to be held in Allen, Samar, Philippines on Jan. 28-Feb. 1, 2013.
PAMMFM said that Badon is a multi-awared performer and composer and has conducted concert tour in Asia, Europe and the United States.
“He sings opera, Broadway and pop tunes in the tradition of Josh Groban, Borcelli and other famous balladeers,” PAMMFM said.
His many awards include the following: 2012 International Artist Citation Award presented by Hawaii State Legislature; 2011 Texas Emissary of the Muses Award presented by the City Government of San Antonio, Texas; 2010 Best Global Pinoy (Filipino) Performer; 2005 Best Movie Theme Song of the Year for the song ‘Minsan’ (interpreter); 2004 Aliw Awardee for Best Classical Performer; Grand Prize in the Nicanor Abelardo Centennial Voice Competition; and Grand Prize Winner in Armed Forces of the Philippines National Songwriting Contest for the song ‘Dugong Pilipino.”
The ticket costs are benefactor, $100; sponsor, $50; and general admission, $20.
