Some 200 natives of Talibon, Bohol, Philippines, and their children will gather on May 17-19, 2013 in Belleville, Michigan to celebrate their town’s annual fiesta in honor of the Santisima Trinidad.

Many of the Talibon natives, also called Talibongnons, who are participating in the gathering, are coming from Canada and other American states.

The highlight of the reunion will be a gala dinner-dance which will be held on May 18 at the Burton Manor in Livonia, Michigan. During the gala event, achievement awards will be presented “to young generations of Talibon descent who are now US citizens.”

To be honored with the awards are Lt. Col. Christopher Crawford, senior space operator/strategic operational planner for US Army, Pacific Fleet, Pacific Air Force, US Pacific Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii;

CDR Gene Anzano, US Coast Guard, Commanding Officer of USCG Cryptologic Unit at National Security Agency in San Antonio, Texas

TSgt. Earl Anzano, Selfridge Air National Guard, Michigan, 191 Operational Support Flight, who has four tours of duty in the Middle East;

Capt. Raphael Carranza, US Air Force, chief of intelligence, 4th Fighter Squadron, who was recently deployed at the Kunsan Air Base in South Korea and the Hill Air Force Base in Utah.

Msgr. Bernardito Auza, DD, titular archbishop of Suacia and Vatican’s papal nuncio to Haiti.

Boxer Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire, 2012 Fighter of the Year and former WBA super bantamweight champion.

May 17, 5 p.m. – Novena and dinner at 49195 Paloma Drive, Belleville with Rossano Evangelista and Lorlaine Evangelista as hermano and hermana; May 18, 9:30 a.m. — mass at St Anthony church in Belleville with Monsignor Barney Auza as celebrant; 11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Lunch, Ruby Buffet, Sheldon Road, Canton, Michigan; 6 p.m-1 a.m. – Gala dinner-dance and presentation of awards, Burton Manor, Livonia; and May 19 — See Detroit.
