A special presentation of “Mouk’s Adventures” for Paaralang Pilipino children will be held at 3 p.m. on April 6, 2014 in the Detroit Puppet Art Theatre, it was announced.
Tess Tchou, co-director of Paaralang Pilipino, said “Mouk’s Adventures” is about an Arabian tale from the William Hauff collection. It recounts the story of a boy who “embarks on a search of happiness.”
Partially sponsored by the Kiwanis Cosmopolitan Detroit headed by President Lenlen Jenks, the special presentation for Paaralang Pilipino children (ages 4-12) is one activity for the celebration of “Philippine ethnic diversity.”
Due to the partial Kiwanis sponsorship, the ticket prices are reduced to $3 each for kids and $5 each for adults, Tchou said. The number of tickets is very limited, and reservation is on a “first come, first served” basis.
For ticket reservation, parents of Paaralang Pilipino kids are asked to call Tess Tchou at 313-533-3085.
Children who are going to watch the show should be accompanied by adults.
The Puppet Art Theatre is located at 25 E. Grand River Ave., which is one block off Woodward Ave. and one-and-half blocks behind the Detroit Opera House.
Street parking is free, and underground parking is available in front of the theatre.
