[box type=”default” size=”large”] Palu-ay, Jenks co-chair over-all event committee [/box]Preparations are on-going for the annual PACCM (Philippine American Community Center of Michigan) Valentine’s Ball which will be held this year in the evening of Feb. 8 at the Troy Marriott Hotel at 200 W. Big Beaver Road, Troy.
The event will also mark the celebration of the 31st anniversary of PACCM, which serves as the city hall of the Filipino-American community in Michigan.
PACCM President Rebecca Tungol said the Valentine’s Ball is a major fund raiser, the proceeds of which will bankroll the maintenance of the PACCM building and the implementation of the center’s programs, including Paaralang Pilipino.
PACCM Executive Director Tony Kho announced that the board has appointed Josie Palu-ay and Jeff Jenks as co-chairperson of the overall event committee.
Kho also announced that the entertainment committee is co-chaired by Flor Penner and Arcie Gemino.
Kho said that couples to be honored during the Valentine’s Ball are those celebrating their first, fifth, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th and 50th anniversaries. He asked the couples marking their landmark nuptial anniversaries to call him at telephone 248-755-6122 on or before Jan. 25 so that their names can be included in the program.
As in past Valentine’s party, there will be a cultural presentation. Top-caliber singers will also entertain the guests.
Regular tickets cost $50 each, and benefactor tickets are priced at $100 each. Attire will be formal.
