The PACCM Hula Dance Troupe will be one of the ethnic groups that will perform at the Sterling Heights Cultural Exchange set on February 1, 2013 in the Senior Center at 40200 Utica Road, Sterling Heights.
The annual cultural program, which will start at 6 p.m., will also showcase favorite ethnic foods.
The City of Sterling Heights ethnic community committee, which is staging the event, said this year’s “cultural exchange promises to be an enjoyable, informative event in which several ethnic groups plan to showcase their unique talents, culinary skills and culture.”
In a message, the committee thanked the PACCM’s Hula Dance Troupe headed by Flor Penner for committing to participate in the cultural event.
Penner noted that this will be the sixth time that her group will be performing at the Sterling Heights cultural exchange.
The popular Filipino dance troupe will perform at about 7:45 p.m.
Penner’s group has been conducting hula classes for dance enthusiasts and children at the PACCM (Philippine American Community Center of Michigan) for several years now.
Individuals interested to join the class are asked to call Flor Penner at telephone 586-506-7352.
