The Michigan chapter of the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations (NaFFAA), in collaboration with the Filipino American Political Association of Michigan (FAPAM), will hold a media workshop at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 16, 2013 at Mongolian Buffet in Warren, it was announced.
The workshop, which is being supported by the Filipino American Community Council (FILAMCCO), will be attended by officers and personnel of non-profit groups assigned to handle the promotion of their programs, projects and services with the help of media.
Willie Dechavez, NaFFAA-Michigan chairperson, said top media people will be invited to serve as resource persons at the workshop. (Read related column on Page 4.)
Dechavez said the participants will:
- Learn the essential tools to advance their projects through media;
- Learn how to write interesting reports and articles that will promote their projects;
- Learn how to market their projects through media; and.
- Learn the basics of news writing and pitfalls of press-release writing.
The workshop fee of only $5 includes a buffet lunch, but the meal should be partaken from 11 a.m. to noon.
