The Michigan chapter of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFAA-MI), through its Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP), will honor a surviving Filipino World War ll veteran on June 25, 2016 at the Philippine American Cultural Center of Michigan (PACCM) in Southfield.

The NaFAA-MI event will pay tribute to Mrs. Marcelina “Marcy” Bandico, a 95-year-old veteran who lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She will celebrate her 96th birthday on June 26, 2016.

NaFAA-MI president Fe San Agustin said Mrs. Bandico had served as a nurse in the USAFFE (United States Armed Forces in the Far East). She is a certified veteran who fought side by side with the Americans during the critical moments of World War II in the Pacific theater.

The event will start promptly at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served shortly after the program.
