Kapatiran sa Michigan will hold bowling fund-raising games on Nov. 1 at 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. in Troy Lanes at 1950 E. Square Lake Road, Troy, it was announced.
Registration fee is $20. It covers cost for three games, shoe rental and two slices of pizza and soda.
Kapatiran President Rene Lanzanas said the proceeds from the bowling fund-raiser will be used to partly bankroll Kapatiran’s financial support for the Day-Care Center in Maguintalunan, Davao del Norte, Philippines as part of its Adopt-a-Hometown-School Project.
The proceeds will also partially support its charity project for eight children in the Philippines whose families were typhoon victims.
Through this project, which is being implemented through Compassion International, Kapatiran sponsors each child for one year by donating $38 per month. Kapatiran plans to continue this project for another year.
Lanzanas said Kapatiran is likewise raising money for the group’s “Sunshine Fund which will be used to help members and friends who are in dire financial need due to illness, disability or loss of a loved one.”
