Who will be Miss Philippines-Michigan 2014-2016?
The Filipino American Community Council (FILAMCCO) announced that it is now looking for young women who want to participate in the prestigious Miss Philippines-Michigan 2014-2016 beauty pageant that will be staged on Aug. 23, 2014 at the St. John’s Banquet and Conference Center in Southfield.

The winner of the Miss Philippines-Michigan 2014-2016 title will also serve as FILAMCCO’s ambassador of goodwill and will represent the Filipino-American community at official events, Martin-Hum said.
The incumbent holder of the Miss Philippines-Michigan title is Miss Carryle Zaldariaga. She will turn over the crown during the pageant.
Rose Caoagas, chairperson of the overall committee handling the beauty competition, said there will be four categories of the contest. These are talent, swimsuit, evening gown and interview.
Caoagas said that to qualify as candidates in the contest, the aspirants should be between 16 and 25 years old and should have good moral character.
The candidate’s entrance fee is $200. The fees will be used by the Filamcco Foundation for its outreach projects.
The deadline for the submission of the names of the prospective candidates will be announced soon.
The beauty contest, which is now a cultural tradition in the Filipino-American community, is a fund-raising program of FILAMCCO. Conducted every two years, the pageant has been continuously staged for the last 27 years.
The candidates in the past beauty competitions were one in their observation that the contest opened to them many door of opportunities and gave them a chance to meet people and make friends.
