Filipino-American children not enrolled in Paaralang Pilipino are welcomed to watch the puppet show to be staged on April 6, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Detroit Puppet Art Theater on Grand River Ave., Detroit,

Tess Tchou, co-director of Paaralan, made this clarification, stressing that the show is not exclusive to students of Paaralang Pilipino, which is the flagship program of the Philippine American Community Center of Michigan (PACCM).

It was earlier erroneously reported that the presentation of the special show is only for Paaralan students.

The tickets are still available to children not currently enrolled in Paaralang Pilipino, Tchou said, adding “it is a way of introducing other children to the Pilipino school and its activities.”

Partial sponsorship by Kiwanis CosmopolitanDetroit enables Paaralan to sell the tickets at much reduced prices — $3 each for children and $5 each for adults. The children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Tchou said the puppet show entitled “Mouk’s Adventures” is about an Arabian tale from the William Hauff collection. It recounts the story of a boy who “embarks on a search of happiness.”

For ticket reservations, children or parents are asked to call Tess Tchou (313) 533-3085 or e-mail her at [email protected]
