The Council of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) announced it is now accepting applications for its 2015 Scholars Award program for Asian Pacific American (APA) students in Michigan.
The Scholars Award was established by CAPA to encourage the educational advancement of APA youths in Michigan and to foster youth involvement and leadership in the CAPA community.
The scholarship is intended for full-time high school seniors who will attend an institution of higher education in Michigan and who will continue to reside in Michigan.
Applicants must have an APA heritage and should be willing to serve on CAPA’s youth committee.
The selected applicant will receive a check for $1000 during the reception for CAPA’s “Splendor of the East” in May next year.
The recipient will be chosen by CAPA’s education committee based on the applicants’ potentials to provide outstanding APA leadership and/or community service in Michigan.
The applications should be filled out completely and should be received at CAPA education committee on or before Jan. 16, 2015.
