The Council of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) announced that it is now accepting applications for its 2014 Scholar Awards.
The scholarship program was launched by CAPA to promote the educational advancement of Asian Pacific American (APA) youth in Michigan and to foster youth involvement and leadership in the APA community.
The 2014 Scholar Awards are intended for full-time high school seniors who will attend college in Michigan and who will continue to reside in Michigan.
Eligible candidates should have APA heritage and should be willing to serve on CAPA’s youth committee.
The chosen scholars will receive each a $1,000 scholarship check during the reception for CAPA’s “Splendor of the East” in May 2014. The recipient(s) will be chosen by CAPA’s education committee, which will base its selection on the applicants’ potentials to provide outstanding APA leadership and/or community service in Michigan.
To apply for the scholarship, eligible candidates should complete the application form available at the CAPA website — http://capami.org/pdffiles/CAPAScholarsAward2014app.doc.
The deadline for the submission of applications is Feb. 10, 2014. The completed application forms should be submitted by email to [email protected]
