APIA Vote-Michigan will present its “ground-breaking report” entitled “Rising Voices, Revealing Truths” at a program which will be held in the evening of April 16, 2013 at the Philippine American Community Center of Michigan in Southfield.
The officers of APIA Vote-Michigan said “Rising Voices, Revealing Truths” is the first report of its kind that focuses on Asian Americans in Southeast Michigan
Covered by the report are five issues that affect Asian Pacific Americans. These issues are education, employment, immigration/citizenship, civic participation and family services.
The report takes an “inside look” into the issues affecting Asian Americans in Metro Detroit, APIA Vote-Michigan said.
The event will serve as a community dialogue to develop plans of action on education, employment, immigration/citizenship, civic participation, and family services
The report also discloses findings on Asian-American voting patterns in Michigan in the 2012 election,
APIA Vote will present the report together with the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
