How can I spread the word about our organization’s project that benefits the community? How can I market our next fundraiser for a worthy project to maximize ticket sales? What are the criteria I should observe so that newspapers will publish the announcement of our organization’s next events?
These are a few of the questions that leaders of organizations often ask to themselves.
All these questions will be answered during a Media Workshop that will be sponsored by the National Federation of Filipino American Associations-Michigan (NaFFAA-Michigan) and the Filipino Political Association of Michigan (FAPAM).
The workshop, which is supported by FILAMCCO, will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Mongolian Buffet in Warren.
The workshop is designed specifically for non-profit communicators. The knowledge they will gain will help them plan their media campaign to promote their projects.
The workshop participants will learn essential tools they need to make their media efforts successful.
They will learn to tell interesting stories that will make their fundraising appeal more effective. It will include a discussion on how leaders market their projects through the media.
The participants will learn the basics of news writing and press-release writing.
NaFFAA is inviting media people to serve as panelists and resource persons. A speaker will be assigned a topic to discuss. There will be a question-and-answer session.
NaFFAA and FAPAM are inviting presidents of organizations, press relations officers and individuals planning to work with the media in the future to attend the workshop.

The workshop fee of only $5 includes a buffet lunch from 11 a.m. to noon.
