WASHINGTON, DC— Philippine food companies will be participating for the first time in Kosherfest 2012 — the world’s largest kosher-certified products trade show to be held on November 13-14, 2012 in New Jersey.

The Philippine Embassy said five Philippine companies will make their debut in the event which serves as the annual meeting place for the industry’s top kosher supermarket, restaurant and food service buyers.

Philippine Agriculture Attaché Josyline C. Javelosa said the Department of Agriculture, through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service, is supporting the participation of the five Filipino companies in the event, which will be held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey.

The companies that will exhibit Philippine kosher-certified agriculture and fishery products in the event are: Andy Albao Enterprise (coconut products such as sugar, nectar syrup, vinegar, powder, jam, flour, oil and also cacao products); KF Nutri-Foods International (dried fruits such as banana chips and assorted tropical fruits , coconut products such as charcoal, briquettes, peat and fiber); Atsons-Tropicana Food Products Inc., (organic coconut products such as cream, powder, oil, mouth freshener, nasal spray and other personal care products); Spythe Global Enterprises (organic coconut sugar, syrup, seasoning, marinade and vinegar); and Suchero (organic natural sweetener).

Javelosa said the government delegation supporting the Philippine companies is headed by Eucledes Forbes, administrator of the Philippine Coconut Authority.

Assisting the group will be Rabbi Joel Weinberger, president of PS Food Works, Inc.; and Tonette Salazar, managing director of the Philippine Liaison Office of PS Kosher Food Works Inc. based in Los Angeles, California.
